چکیده

A Raman spectroscopic study of aqueous solutions of Li2S04, LiNaSOq and LiKS04 as function of concentration and temperature has been performed. From a band profile analysis of the internal modes of the sulphate ion , the spectroscopic association constant has been calculated at different temperatues. It has been also possible to measure the diasivity coefficients for Li2S04 in bulk solutions and in gels, using Raman spectroscopy. These data are used in the interpretation of the crystallization behaviour of Li salts from aqueous solutions and gels.

Raman spectra of dipicolinic acid in crystalline and liquid environments.

Raman spectra of dipicolinic acid (DPA) are important for detection of bacterial spores, since DPA and its salts present one of their major components. The implementation of a deeply cooled CCD camera in combination with pulsed excitation at 532 nm allowed measuring well-resolved Raman spectra of the DPA in different forms. Powder preparations, crystals grown from saturated solutions and aqueou...

Removal of Brilliant Green and Crystal violet from Mono- and Bi-component Aqueous Solutions Using NaOH-modified Walnut Shell

In the present work, the simultaneous determination of Brilliant green (BG) and Crystal violet (CV) dyes with overlapped absorption spectra in binary mixture solution, was carreid out using the partial least squares (PLS) and direct ortogonal signal correction-partial least squares (DOSC-PLS) methods. The results obtained indicate that by applying DOSC on the calibration and prediction data for...

Growth Rate and Morphology of a Single Calcium Carbonate Crystal on Polysulfone Film Measured with Time Lapse Raman Micro Spectroscopy

The phenomenon of calcium carbonate crystal growth from aqueous solutions on surfaces widely occurs in systems where carbonate and bicarbonate ions are present, such as in domestic systems, waste and drinkable water treatment systems or industrial apparatus where water is used. Crystal growth leads to the formation of mineral scale which reduces the performance of membrane materials in equipmen...

Nucleation of solid solutions crystallizing from aqueous solutions.

The study of nucleation and growth mechanisms of salts from aqueous solutions, as a function of supersaturation, is described using both macroscopic and microscopic experiments. In situ observations in a fluid cell in an atomic force microscope (AFM) reveal phenomena not accounted for in standard crystal-growth theories, specifically on the role of the crystal structure of the substrate in cont...

Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering of Crystal Violet with Low Concentrations Using Self-Assembled Silver and Gold-Silver Core-Shell Nanoparticles

The active substrates in surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy were prepared through self-assembly of nanoparticles on functionalized glasses. Colloidal silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were prepared chemically in two different sizes by reduction of AgNO3 using trisodium citrate and sodium borohydride. Gold–silver core–shell nanoparticles were also prepared to compare between the o...
